What is Permanent Partial Disability (PPD)?

Modified on Tue, 19 Jul, 2022 at 4:08 PM

Permanent Partial Disability refers to a condition where a person is not able to work at his full capacity due to disability/injury caused due to an accident.

Total and irreversible loss of hearing in both ears, loss of speech, loss of sight in one eye, loss of one hand, and loss of one foot are some examples that are covered under PPD. In these conditions, the person can work but not with earlier skill and efficiency.

The insurance companies try to compensate for the loss of income that is caused due to such disablement under a Group Personal Accident policy.
