What is a reimbursement claim?

Modified on Tue, 19 Jul, 2022 at 4:17 PM

Reimbursement claims mean you pay the hospital bills first and get them reimbursed from the insurance company at a later stage. Primarily, this situation arises when the hospitalization is done in a non-network hospital and during medical emergencies.

A reimbursement claim generally takes more than 14 days from the date of the complete document received. All the documents should be sent to TPA/Loop for a quick resolution.

The TPA or insurance company scrutinizes every reimbursement claim application thoroughly. This step is crucial for them as it is not a cashless claim, and they are not directly associated with the network hospital. Hence, an extra check needs to be performed to ensure the authenticity of the claim raised.
