What is Pre-Existing Diseases Waiting Period (PED)?

Modified on Fri, 15 Jul, 2022 at 11:54 AM

A pre-existing disease refers to any condition, ailment, injury or disease that has been diagnosed up to 48 months before buying your health insurance policy.

Examples of pre existing diseases include diabetes, hypertension, thyroid, etc.

If you do have a pre-existing disease, the prescribed waiting period will need to lapse before you can claim for any treatment that is related to the disease.
